Fine Tuned Strings

Everyone loves music. Musicians spend countless hours practicing to own what they’re good at. But if there’s one thing that can make a musician cringe, it’s the sound of an instrument out of tune. As an extremely amateur musician, the first thing I do before I play my guitar is ensure all my strings are in tune. The strings must be in tune collectively and in relation to the one another. A basic guitar has six strings: E B G D A E
No one likes an over-zealous E string or a D string that is always a step behind. In order for music to be tastefully carried out to the liking of its creator, each string needs to be in tune with each other and collectively as a group. There is what I like to call the “Six String Effort” where a conscious effort is made to relationally tune each of these basic strings to another to live or lead effectively. They are:
- Faith
- Family
- Character
- Vision
- Clarity
- Courage
Unfortunately, I couldn’t think of qualities to live by to match the guitar naming mnemonic so this will have to do for now
. Just remember, no one likes an over-zealous E. For example, faith in excess and a negligence of family values will not get you too far. You get the picture.
Without maintaining an equilibrium of sorts, it is impossible to live and lead an effectual life. Feel free to sound off.
